A little idea of our project

This little worthless wall has been bothering me since the first time I laid eyes on it.
It just stuck out into the middle of the kitchen with no real purpose except to bug me.
So we took it out. my life is better now.
Can you see where it used to be? over on the left, straight out form the worthless drop-down ceiling?
Oh, the ceiling went away as well. and the brick. that terrifying brick. and the fluorescent lights. and the floor. and the light fixtures. and the sink. :)
Please don't pay any mind to the kitchen-ogre. We're keeping him. he's good at demolition.

 On another note:
This house has a jetted tub. But my children found out rather quickly that it is actually just a bubble machine. push the button and you have bubbles up to your eye-balls. literally in Calvins case.

Did you know there are mermaids in Willard bay?

Its true. we saw one.

We were just eating dinner on the beach, minding our own business
Which of course led to some sand-digging
 and dancing
And seashell hunting (yes, we're aware this is not the ocean)
( In case you're were wondering why all of these pictures are of Lainey)
 Do these explain it?
 And then....
We spotted a Mermaid!!
 Her name is sparkle
Disclaimer: we were the only people there

Fresh start

Alrighty folks, I'm thinking its about time for Me to get my act together and start blogging!
There are some big things happening in our lives right now and I think I should start sharing.
No, no babies yet. well, actually I'm fairly positive our "spayed" cat is preggers, so maybe we'll have some strange phenomenon babies, but no Abbott babies. yet.
But the biggest thing going on right now is WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!! woo hoo!! hooray!! yippee!! we're SO happy. our new house is in Willard Utah and we love it!
(There is a lot of exclamation-ing going on in this post) But really, we're so happy with our new spot.
The house was built in the mid-seventies so it has some interesting quirks, so we've been doing some serious projects before we "move in" but honestly we almost never go home to our eden house. we're just full time campers around here.
Our very favorite part about it is it's on a whole acre of rural farm land and we can have whatever kinds of animals and mud-loving dandelion-eating tadpole-catching goat-feeding  kids that our hearts desire :) its much more "us" than anything we thought we would find.

I'm going to try and stay up to date on blogging our projects and goings-on around here, but... we'll see :)

Simple pleasures

Why is it that small children are so drawn to water?
We were at an awesome park and Cals favorite thing was the drinking fountain.
And of course I had to take pictures :)

I love this boy.

Two years ago

Two years ago on the 28th of april we added another life to our family.
This year on the 28th of april we added FOUR!
Calvin doesn't seem to mind sharing

 The white one kills me
Does this child EVER wear clothes??

Ok I guess she does when she wants to be in pictures
Good Mommy Zoe.
... Anyone want a kitten?

Entertained

So, I was going to title this post "Bored" but the more I looked at these pictures and thought about it, the more I realized that we're not bored at all, we're just finally learning how to stay home :)
Cal and Lainey were sick all last week and we never left the house, so they got pretty creative with their entertainment.
A lot of fishing happened
But the fish were usually sleeping so they rarely caught anything
A few forts happened
Actually I think it was dog kennel at this point
And there is always some of this going on at our house
Disclaimer: Tom slept on our couch and I didn't want Tank to get on my sheets before they made it to the laundry, hence the chair on the couch.
and I have no excuse for the rest of the disaster. thats just how we roll :)

A small glimpse into their lives...

This boy has a cold so we decided it would be best to stay home today
One of my favorite things to do in the afternoon is to sit on Laineys bed  by the big window and just watch my kids through my camera lens
They look a little mangey (and naked)
but we had a little puddle mis-hap earlier and had to have a middle of the day bath

which resulted in clothing-less kids and dried-wet hair

It amazes me every day how well these two get along

At some point this sneaky girl managed to weasel some baby chicks upstairs

When she got bored Tank had to take over as babysitter

This one is named Hanna, "Because she's blonde and she has a nice round bum"

We kind of like sick days :)
